Is it just me or is complying with fuel and oil storage regs an expensive business. I wanted to get hold of a barrel bund looks like its going to cost a minimum of £150. Anyone *got any better ideas?

An IBC, cut in half with some pallets stacked in it for easy working height/access. Depending on how technical you want to get you could cut it lower so it'll hold 250l (for a 200l barrel) plus the dispalcement of the pallets (or whatever rack you use). You could be finished for £50, and have some spare capacity for that 20l tin of chain oil, the engine oil for the van etc.

For free, I picked up an old tin trunk, the sort our forebears would have used to pack their gear before setting off for the colonies. Perfectly acceptable to our council inspector as a bunded container. Holds 2 x 20L & 6 x 5L cans.

Thanks. Both good ideas. Not sure the tin trunk would work as it needs 125% capacity and a barrel is 205L where do you get hold of something like that?

Like rover said use an ibc, shame your not closer to me as i have a few for sale.
