Dorset steam fair

Anyone off to the dorset steam fair? heading down from bristol friday camping overnight and take in as much as possible on saturday! highly reccomended if anyone hasnt been before!

 

Beer, steam engine milling, monster trucks what more could you want from a show.

I live about 5 minutes away from the site. If you are camping in a tent i would strongly suggest you put padlocks on tent. There is always a high traveller presence. The temp traveller site is further away from the main site but there are usually thefts from tents/caravans during the show.

dont just drive down to the show and expect to get in have a look at there web site first there are a lot of veh restrictions and the safe secure camping is pre book only i book mine in jan to get a place . it is the biggest steam show in the world but it is more than just steam just look at there web site GDSF

So what are you trying to say, that all the thefts from these tents are made by travellers ? and what good would a padlock on a tent do, i don't think it would stop some little scrote with a stanley knife.

Im not saying that at all. A big slice isn't exactly suttle. The security staff are alot more alert now. A few years ago there was a spate of caravan thefts from the site so now every vehicle has its VIN number taken as well as the caravans VIN and if the two dont match you dont leave the site.

yes it starts next wed but we go on saturday this saturday have done for 20 years to watch the setting up and get to meet people hundreds go early and camp music and the beer tents will be open pluse the jumble erea get to see it all before the mad rush treegeek whet are they showing ? i want to take my tractor but the waiting list is as long as your arm ,
