hello and good firewood prices

hi to you guys on the firewood forum. been looking in here for a while and now a new member, so hello all. we're selling logs north essex, mixed hardwood very clean and dry. our prices for loose delivered 1m3=£70 2m3=£130 3m3=£180 inc VAT and del. others round here i know of lowest=£110 for good size transit tipper load mixed not always so clean and dry;another supplier 2m3=£155 haven't seen quality; another is 1m3=£85. but i'm seeing a lot of you here on arbtalk are selling at higher prices, even £100/ loose m3. how do you get that rate guys? it has cheered us up to hear these prices!

you're not very far from me then, in sible hedingham...

 

I'm asking £100 loose cube hardwood this year and £80 willow/conifer mix £10 off if customer collects. be brave, ask for more!

 

i can take it youve finished playing with bails of hay then :laugh1:

hullsmillfarm, that must be it, just gotta stick neck out bit further... ask for more.

 

some people still hang up phone with our prices!

 

need to get more for it though, as our prices are only just keeping us ahead of all the costs involved.

I think the problem is when you say you want £150 or whatever for a cabstar load it sounds like alot of money, especialy when you pick up the local paper and see people selling loads for £70/£80, so i've gone over to bulk bags at £65 ago, it's not such an ask as £150 and i'll probably still run out before the end of winter.

eggsarascal, i guess to alot of people £150 is a lot of money (though you need a lot of £150's to get through a year...) do you get asked what the dimensions of your bags are when people enquire or are they just happy to hear the £65? and do you get orders for more than one at a time? your analysis of the problem though, i think you're right about that.
