Do any of you guys burn acacia ? As we have cut down 100s of dead trees this summer. My other question is regarding seasoning we have been cutting it in to 1m lengths and splitting it how long should it take to season once split ?

Rover not sure why it was dead the section of forest we took them out of was hugely overcrouded nor the type of acacia but here is a couple of pics. I had heard that it almost as good as oak ;-) happy days as they grow very quickly.

This is a small Acacia not in the forest but the same as the trees we took down.

One of the logs no fungus etc

This shows how over crowded they were.

Some pics of other trees still to be taken down

Hi

As a woodturner and carver it almost makes me weep

One of my favourite woods

I would say your welcome to have some but I think I am rather far away for collection !

This is a big part of a big cedar that came down last year after seeing some of the wood carving pics I think we may try and turn it in to a bench ;-)
