I had the landy up on ramps today, and chocked the wheels with wood as i normally do, but on this occasion, the wood had a weak spot. it broke and the 90 rolled back hitting both myself and my dad as we were both under it at the time. Dad had a nice BF Goodrich tyre print on his back and internal bruising, and i have bruised between the bones on my left forearm. Luckily nothing broken. Normally i would leave the truck in gear aswell, but i was working on the handbrake, so didnt this time. I really should have known better as i have done my own repairs on landys for 19 years. Just rushing in a rare dry spell and didnt take the time to check things over before i crawled underneath. The moral of this, is be careful folks.

My mate more or less did the same with a 53 seater coach, didnt choke it, rolled of the blocks and crushed his wrist. It nearly took his hand off, 3 years ago, still causes him loads of pain and he cant move it much.

I dont get under anything now without some really good axle stands and wheel choks.

Yep, your so right, don't take short cuts when working on machines (or with the saws).

My old man found this out last week to his cost clearing a blockage on his combine harvester.

Lost his right leg and is lucky to be alive as a result.
