You'd need to eat a ton to make you ill, lots of nuts contain cyanide, almonds for one, the almond smell you get from chipped laurel is cyanide..

Hmmm how many haw pips to a ton? I was just relaying what was written, rather than be negligent and miss it out.

First batch which I have now cut into slices to dry.

It is palletable at the mo but is supposed to get sweeter as it dries and ages.

i think you need a second opinion on the taste and with the credit crunch i am sick of dry bread

Earlier in summer try picking Elder flowers, dip in batter and then into hot fat. Awsome with Maple syrup.

We go out foraging all the time. This time of year, pie every day.:001_smile:

I'd presume that the nut will pass straight through anyway without digesting any Cyanide :confused1:

If the seed is whole it will pass through, i'd be carefull eating crushed seeds though ''just in case'' the jelly will be ok as this won't contain cyanide
