Bandit Woodchippers

Just wondering if any one has any thoughts on these . Have been looking at a 90 or 150 but dont really know much about them .

 

Any pros and cons would be appreciated .

very good machines but the blades have to be realy sharp so you will have to change the blades every week. Lorry going well ?

yeah lorry is good not sure how i ran with out it for so long . Just on the hunt for a bigger machine to tow behind it now .

Have just got a Bandit 150. It's on PTO on a 100hp tractor. In a word fantastic. I've manually fed it and you struggle to keep up with it! Crane feeding it still happy munches stuff. I've only done 4 hours chipping on it. Must admit the big infeed hopper of the 250 would be better than the slightly small one that the 150 has.

 

Build quality is great the 150pto comes in at 1.5 tonnes. The only downside is that the feed hopper sticks out a fair way. Global recycling made us a sliding headstock to get it out of the other lane of traffic when on the road. Not sure how far it sticks out on the trailer version.

If your going bigger i would buy a drum chipper.

I'm interested in this as I'm after a big bandit tow behind for site clearance work.

I've worked with a couple of Bandit Chippers,one 12" the other 22".Both were excellent machines,over built but easy to work on.The lift/crush feature on the 12" was nice.

 

I don't think there is a hell of alot of difference between a Drum and a Disc Chipper to be honest.A mate in the States has a "Cone Head" chipper,he reckons its faster than either but I've never seen it run.

 

Bandit and Morbark seem to have held true to the Keep it Simple design plan.Something I think Vermeer could benefit reflecting on.

The yoke on the 12" is just great. Makes it very easy to clear blockages.
