the lantra info is really interesting. i now have a lot more options than i thought.

the yard ive got is based within the footprint of a 17th century farm. two sandstone leantwos on the back of a large sandstone hay barn with a medium sized enclosed yard. funding if for the renovation of some of the buildings and to replace our delivery vehichle and to purchase some more prossessing and extraction equipment. We also have a larger yard about half a mile up the road which is a 45 by 10 meter concrete hardstanding in the middle of a 10 acre field. there is good access for articulated lorries etc. it all seems to be falling into place. just need the funding to pull it all together. im also looking for TIMBER. im in derbyshire if anybody knows of anything??

i am looking into the micro grant scheme but it all seems a bit of a grey area.

didnt know you had to put in the first 5k. crikey.

If you're hoping for 100% funding on anything, I think you're going to be disappointed. The only grants I've seen in the past 10 years will only match your funding to 50% maximum. These days, there seems to be a lot less free money about.

We successfully got a grant for our processor last year (50/50) through the RDPE scheme, (kickstarted by contact and a visit from the Silvanus Trust rep.), but it has recently changed, and the scheme now comes under DEFRA, give them a try.

Are you referring to the government of the United Kingdom?

Before Scotland and wales were given their own governments yes. In those days things were on a pretty level playing field, not so these days. Just look at Uni tuition fees, I have 1 at Uni and another just going grades permitting.

I suppose I am annoyed rather than bitter, I have some great Scottish friends who are fantastic company. They only wanted devolution because they would have access to oil revenues, once they have been used up i expect they will be seeking to become more closely tied again, not that that will occur in our lifetime.
