Slight derail but please let me have my rant....

We have had a surge in problems with unauthorised campers in the area. This morning I drove past them setting up camp on a friends yard having removed the gates.

The good news was that less than 50 yards away from the mayhem that was breaking out was a marked police car. The bad news was that rather than keeping an eye on developments until re-enforcements came he was concentrating hard on his speed camera pointed out of the drivers window and would not get involved.

Latest development is that my friend has been stopped from tipping 20 tonnes of hardcore in the gateway (two hours notice given) by the police as it would prevent the emergency services from reaching the campsite. They have also confirmed they will not take any action on the unauthorised removal or damage to the gates. It also turns out that the council have used ratepayers money to evict them from council land but won't help at all getting them to move on now that they are on private land.

This is just so wrong. :mad1:

Doesn't breaking and entering exist anymore?

I know its off topic but I saw a program about squatters and the major problems they cause, its the 21st century you would think this type of thing should be stopped in its tracks.:confused1:

Hope they move on/get moved soon.:thumbup1:

~Has anyone else noticed drinks bottles hanging in hedges? We knocked a few out of hedges yesterday, are they a marker for something? Cant see why anyone would innocently place them there
