Has anyone got a MS441 cylinder head they would like to sell? One of the chaps i work with saws spark plug hole threads have stripped, is there any other way of mending it apart from a different head?

Cheers :001_smile:

Easily fixed with a helicoil thread repair insert.

Your local dealer should be able to repair it or you can buy a DIY kit for around £30-40 iirc. Will repair about 5 threads for that price.

Edit:make sure he buys the short inserts if he gets the kit.

Hello again, thanks for the responce and sorry for the late reply, been having to work away. I worked with the chap today and it's still not mended, are the kits you talk about easy enough to fit and where would one get one from? Thanks for your advice so far chaps.

It is really simple once you work out how it works, plus it can save a lot of time and cost.:thumbup1:

Now if getting snapped bolts out of threads was just as easy.....

I think I may have the saw in my workshop - got the head off, hole reamed/cleaned, insert and hole degreased and waiting to insert the insert with a smear of JB weld around it, job should be a good one - managed to get some aluminium inserts for greater heat distribution.

If the owner goes by the name of Jude.....it will be ready over the weekend but have agreed to drop it in Tuesday week.
