ok guys for the last month all weve been doing is elm work ,as you might have seen in some of my prevoius posts weve taken down some pretty big lumps , but to start this week weve been working in an area with allegedly the tallest elm in the uk ,today i took down one next to it which measured just over 90 ft and looking across at the tallest one i reckon its gota be between 120- 130 ft ,it would be such ashame to lose it  so does anyone know of any similar sized elms around the country ? or is this definatly the tallest elm in the uk ? i shall some post some pictures tommorow :001_smile:

A couple of the ones around here have got to be close contenders. No photos of my closest one, which is (currently successfully) battling DED, but the ones shown if you google "haverhill leisure centre" and go to streetmaps are very healthy indeed and the one on the right hand end is still full height.

A few years ago there was a thread about two very tall Elm's. I think they were at a collage, Cambridge may be??

But the thread was about there possible removal, so they may have gone. I think one was 160ft.
