monitoring these cracks between the sinuses with a calliper, to see if we need to reduce the canopy of the veteran torminalis any further than we have already

Am I interpreting this right? He seems to make quite a focus, and seems surprised, that the limb failed (4.01 - 4.28) despite it's relative size but has already focused on the extent of the decay within that limb. Or is the message intended as "don't overlook the smaller limbs if there are larger sections that might draw your attention" ??

I believe Glenn mentions the historic reduction work on the failed limb to counter a perceived lever arm effect, which I take as perhaps the reason for his surprise at the failure.

 

Tbh, I've posted this up more as nod at the style of his documentation rather than the content.

 

But good talking point :thumbup1:
