yeah forgot to mention following on from terrier thread:blushing:

got a dog now, x-breed border collie, going blind and deaf, had him for 13 years.

a great companion and fantastic with the kids but we do find things a bit restictive now with owning a dog and the kids will be heartbroken when he dies.

problem for me is i dont live where the wood is stored and the area is very busy with traffic and machinery and the dog would not be able to stay there overnight unless it was on a chain and i'm not a fan of that.

Wot about a couple of cats?

They are pretty independant and can be left on their todd and tell your kidds that they are strays?

About time they were used for something usefull !

Hope it turns out more useful than mine. Piled some split logs by my door within one metre of the cat flap with two cats going in and out all day. Rat took up residence! cats did nothing.:confused1:

Would understand if it was some huge horrible rat with big yellow teeth but it was only a little un. Spoilt on too much whiskas I guess.

Get a dog.
