Nick, if you dont mind me asking, (I know you put in a lot of work outside of the actual cutting) quoting site visits and the like are all part and parcel of running the business. If your guys are putting in a lot of graft for you and on site till 8-9, do you weigh them in aswell?

Looks like a no on that front!:laugh1:

Seriously though if your lads are working till 9PM please give them a good slap around the head and tell them to ge a life!:thumbup1:

There is no way on Gods Earth I would be working that late!

Your lads are obviously af an agric nature, brought up on good work ethics, my oldman was coal man, and did turfing inthe summer, I was always out with him, when I get my act together can do a good fortnight of solid graft, but I do have to get my family fix, gf doesnt like me taking the kids out qouting or running erands ort logs, but they will if they want pocket money, and when they want to go to glastonbury in 10-17 years they will have the dolars saved,

fairplay, I knowa farmer/fencer with your mentality, got new l200 and range rover sport, people sometimes comment on asian people only having what they got because they dont drink, nah, they work hard and work together, a trait that is being lost within our ways of living

You obviously hung the wedge in front of them at the right time, as long as they know that if they need to back off they can for a breather, then the work will continue to be done to a goodstandard,

Without being rude, do you strive to do the job to the best of your ability, or do you find yourself having to make the odd cut of a corner like?

only corners cut might be fellin a tree when prod should be climbed.... have been known to stop traffic on road and fell trees in the road... but anything else is done to highest standards... and i'm very very fussy on clearing up... drives my ladds mad when i make em get blower back off truck if i spot a few twiggs or bit wood chip on drive.. even after customers paid up and happy.... old boy i used to do bit work for 20 yrs ago said 90% of customers wont have clue if you've reduced or reshaped their tree properely but they will no if you've cleared there garden up properly and i drum that into any new groundsman when they start... we obviously try to do trees properly too though...
