thinks its always been the stein for me, besides if i had a GRCS i would always be wasting time teaching all the landscape gardeners i climb for how to use it

 

in the event of me being able to afford either the Hobbs, GRCS which is gonna be best to have.(or steves when he gets the thing marketed and reviewed:lol:)

Well thats very debatable. Your right though, wait till you have your own groundie and train him and keep it to yourselves.

 

The first groundie I had when I first bought the GRCS was rubbish and it took a while for me to see what it was capable of, but that took a new groundie, not me, to push it further, and I still think we are no where near its capabilities, that why I know that these SWL's that seem low are plenty actually high enough.

back on the subject......if you just needed a bollard, back plate/tree fitting plus a strop - whats the best deal out there?

Yes it is only a few quid to make them. Then add the design and research time and profit for all those involved and you end up with the new RC devices at whatever cost they are 2-300 quids.

 

But yes if you can get someone to fab one up for you, then his skills must be worth ££ so you would still be looking at 1-200 I reckon.

 

The bollard in my picture above cost about 200 to have made if I remember correctly.

gonna get myself the rc3001 me thinks can't go wrong with that......

just gonna set the tension with pulleys if need be.

then if work comes in thick and need someone good on the ground all the time then i will probably go for the GRCS. When you say it comes with a day training is that just for 1 person?

Form what you said above, majestic, it sound like the Stein Duo would be perfect, based on price etc. Probably with the pre-tension pulley.

It depends entirely on your requirements of course.

 

I'm SO close to buying the Duo and pre-tensioner but I know that there are too many applications, with the work we do, where a proper winch is beneficial. Hence my Smartwinch/GRCS dilemma.

 

It's a tricky one as there are so many £££££ involved.
