fuel filter????

ivr got a 2004 transit tipper 2.5 tdi 90 does any1 know if the fuel pump is self bleeding? im going to change the fuel filter just dont know that if i fill the filter with fuel before i put it on and turn the engine over it will be air locked?

Never had a transit, but with most diesels you fit the filter dry, open a union beyond the filter, pump the lift pump until fuel comes out of the union, then tighten the union, job done.

yeah ive done em like that before...this doesnt have a lift pump on tho

What do you do if you run out of fuel and need to bleed it???????

exacly...on a 2004 van surely it must be self bleeding...only other way would be to loosen injectors 1 by 1 and turn engine over

electic pumps ,or on the key

If your battery is up to it, you don't need to loosen the injectors, just turn it over.

yep,auto bleeding ,or somthing like ,grinder has ,as on daily ,chipper electric pump

They are auto bleed.

 

Following recent issues with mine, I have been advised to tow the truck to start it as the starter motors are not upto constant cranking to bleed through!
