ivr got a 2004 transit tipper 2.5 tdi 90 does any1 know if the fuel pump is self bleeding? im going to change the fuel filter just dont know that if i fill the filter with fuel before i put it on and turn the engine over it will be air locked?

Never had a transit, but with most diesels you fit the filter dry, open a union beyond the filter, pump the lift pump until fuel comes out of the union, then tighten the union, job done.

exacly...on a 2004 van surely it must be self bleeding...only other way would be to loosen injectors 1 by 1 and turn engine over

They are auto bleed.

 

Following recent issues with mine, I have been advised to tow the truck to start it as the starter motors are not upto constant cranking to bleed through!
