Hamadryads diary- a new chapter

I had an awesome day myself today, although there is something going on in WW that i am very concerned about which spoiled it a bit today, tell ya later.:thumbdown:

 

Im not sure of some of these fungi today gerrit, and deliberatley looked for some grassland fungi on a golf course too for a change so any clues on some would be appreciated:thumbup1: and for anyone else, if you can Ident the third photo here i will salute you!:thumbup:

2. Coprinus plicatilis s.l.

3. Coprinus species

4. Oudemansiella mucida

5. Melanoleuca species

6. Lepista nuda

7. Grandinia/Cerocorticium/Steccherinum/Mycoacia species : microscope.

8. Tephrocybe species

9. Xylaria longipes (Acer) ? and in background Mycena species

10 Arcyria/Stemonit(ops)is species ?

11. Coprinus comatus

12. Macrolepiota rachodes var. hamadryadoides

Ive never found 3 free from velum scales before, care to hazard a guess as no one else is playing?:001_smile:

As you can see in the picture, it's cap has already started "decomposing" and blacking the gills and the rim of the cap by riping spores and in that phase lots of smaller Coprinus species have lost their scales entirely.

Besides, it looks wet from rain or fog, which makes microscopical identification impossible because of the lack of velum. To microscopically identify smaller Coprinus species, you need FB's in all stages of development.

Coprinus picaceus Gerrit, and 100% so, rain has washed off the scales:001_cool:

 

I checked out all my picaceus sites yesterday bar the new one already shown friday, and all had fruitings but had mostly gone over and i was too late.:sad:

This small and between grass outside beech wood :confused1: ?

 

No not far from a beech at all! it just was felled a long time ago, this beech trunk very close by.

 

also some C. picaceus from the same patch of grass last year, probably growing on old residues of litter in this deep soggy organic profiled soil.

 

sorry i should have said, didnt mean to mislead on its context.:001_smile:

Tony,

Did you exclude Coprinus stanglianus ?

 

Stipe too thick, colouration too grey, whats its habitat preferences?

 

I hate you sometimes! you got me wondering now! do you HAVE to be so much a smart arse all the time!:lol:
