i've had a petzl for 2 years. its comfortable and durable.

the stein seems like it would be ok in winter, but the padding looks like it would be hot n sweaty in summer!! petzl have bought out a new climbing helmet so that might solve your comfort issues!

Going against most posts so far, I'm Stein over Petzl anyday! College have the petzles and I was'nt a huge fan, got my stein now and love it :thumbup1: Traditional mesh visor ... not fast enough yet to qualify for the topgun look :001_tt2:

Have a cheap oregon lid for on the deck which i can't fault either.

Why would yo want a "cheap" helmet to protect your head?:thumbdown:even more so being on the ground??:confused1:

25 quid helmet for a 25 quid head!. I've been wearing Petzl Ecrin Roc helmets for about 15 years, had a big lump of macrocarpa fall on my head which split the helmet from crown to rim. I got away with a headache and a stiff neck the next day. These 'new' lightweight helmets may look pretty, but would they take a knock like that?...I'm not going to be the one to find out thanks....
