for the last 2 weeks solid all weve doing is dutch elm desiese work and this week i finally got famous with the bbc filming a short piece that was shown last night on south today :thumbup1: i would put up a link but not sure how ?

i reckon in the last 6 days weve felled between 50-60 mature elm and this week weve been concentrating on 3 pretty sizable ones that had phone lines ,sheds .fences and an oil tank beneath , heres a few piccys of the one we did today ,

it was completly hollow at about 6 feet up to maybe 20 feet then 35 feet of crown above that witch all had to be rigged down . that last pic is the height were leaving that one at ,but all has to be debarked !

love dead elms - amazing firewood once seasoned a lil. just finished splitting 3 tons of it and wow theres been some hard bits but sure will be nice come winter

"Even the very flames are cold" - my arse! Seasoned elm burns bloody hot! It burns a bit quick though I've found.

Good job I've got a fair bit then. :thumbup1:
