Defender 130 tyre pressures?

Just wondering what tyre pressures you 130 owners run on?

 

For on-road work I'm running 40 on the front and 60 on the rear on 235/85 x 16 General Grabbers.

What do you run them at now? I would run them at 32 psi rear 30 front, but a sure someone will correct me if am wrong. And the 32 on the rear would be if towing,

the book say's for 7.50 r16 all conditions check when cold 44lbf front and 65lbf rear

or 3.0 bar front and 4.5 bar rear

depends how wide the tyres are, on the 130 I had it ran 8.5" wheels with near 10" tyres on. I ran 32ish psi front and rear without problems when fully loaded.

 

Run them too hard and all the vibration from the road is passed to the chassis and suspension and not absorbed by the tyres.

60 psi you would need a new backbone after a long drive.

Mine runs 36 front and 45 to 50 rear

 

It's my own pressures I have come to use.

 

It's a good compromise for ride both loaded and unloaded

Al, also make sure your tyres have a decent load rating.

 

Load rating knocks down the numbers of tyres to choose from quite dramatically on a 130
