Recommended Posts

First disclocated mine back in 2000. First op in 2005, second in 2007 and third booked in for later this year.

Tree work, rugby and shoulders do not mix!!

I gave up the climbing and got subbys in to do it for me. Financially that wasnt geat to be honest but it keeps me involved in Arb.

Get inflamation down first ice packs at least three times a day and pop some ibuprofen.Once inflamation has died down and normal range of motion is restored then strengthen your rotator cuff muscles and upper back muscles. All exercises will be on YouTube to help instruct you.Could be a muscular imbalance aswell between pushing muscles an pulling,if you climb alot that could be a contributing towards your pulling muscles being Stronger than your pushing ones

I'd advise a trip to good physio aswell pref a sport therapist who deals with active people,as usually alot of scar tissue can build up in shoulder with repeat dislocations

Yeti can you explain this one, as far as i was lead to believe all muscles pull via contraction ive never heard of any pushing:confused1:

i.e your triceps contract to throw your arm out its not your biceps pushing your arm out.

cheers

Did mine around 7 times over 5 years, and only when I properly rested and excercised it did it stop popping out. The tendons take a long time to contract and become taut again so my advice would be rest it well. Hasn't come out for 10 years now touch wood. Good luck with it.
