the 3.0 is probably the most economical of the lot, specially when being worked hard.

 

I'd agree, we had one in a 35c14 and it didn't use that much more fuel when it was loaded and towing than it did empty - and it towed amazingly

No i ment the 2.3 uses less fuel then the 3.0 and it weights a little less, I was after fuel economy plus cheaper tax.

 

Tho 176hp does sound nice lol

I have a 35c12 and love it although the tipping ram can be quite slow, especially when it's cold. In my case this is mainly due to the skinny hydraulic hoses which I am replacing soon. You can always get the ram changed, its not a massive job. I wish I'd kept the ram off my old LDV400, that would lift a house....it's somewhere in Poland now...

My 35C14 does 17.8 mpg average over the last 6 months. Mainly town work. That's just under £200 a month. I love the really high cab height. The engine is quite (compared to a transit). Never buy a non direct (scissor type) ram. They are crap. I think I'm going to chip it for more economy.
