I'm reading John Irvine's latest and that's set in logging country, covering a time period covering manual forestry all the way through to mechanisation. Seeing those pic's makes it a lot more graphic :thumbup1:

Thanks for posting:thumbup1: what a wicked collection of picture's. i love the old trucks there using, very cool! i bett it was hard work back in the day of cutting all by hand, i have much respect for these guy's!!! us modern day tree worker don't know we're born:thumbup: Regards western.

wicked set of shots ! photos back then are so much better than all this modern digital stuff ,! its odd really cos we get to appreciate shots like that of 8 guys standing in a gob made by a handsaw , yet in years to come people will be googling the same and will probably be looking at us lot lunging half naked in a pair of stihl xfit over a silly little twig we felled with an 880 .....lol:lol:
