My wife loves flake ''rock eel'' as they call it over here, its not an eel at all, its a shark, spurdog, bull huss species..

Yes cut behind the head straight away,There "gummy"as they have no teeth and taste the goods as all they eat are scallops,small bait fish.

 

Pretty common fish and everyones after them,there in the bays and offshore.

Looks like we get Mr Gummy sharks cousin over here, Mr Smoothhound, they share the same latin name, they get to about the same size too, teeth like Les Dawson or lack of , and eat the same tucker..

 

I caught one last year on a boat the hottest day of the year, skipper didn't have any ice [what a plonker] i'll take my own ice next time and flake she shall have..
