13. What tree species, beech ? If so, probably Inonotus cuticularis.

I checked this yesterday and this fungus is on a coppiced Tilia. The FB didn't change much in appearance during the last 2 weeks.

 

Does that change the ID as Inonotus cuticularis?

Yes, it does, as I. cuticularis is not documented from Tilia (yet) and their FB's don't have whitish pores. By just looking at the photo, I think it may be old brackets of Bjerkandera fumosa (Rookzwam).

So what are these growing in my chilli plants?

 

They moved outside at the start of summer after they had a mite problem and ended up defoliated! They have since flureshed outside and no have these little cup type fung for company:confused1:

I have been looking at a number of young hollies (Ilex aquifolium) that were planted this year and are partially or completely defoliated. In most cases the defoliation appears to have affected the upper half of the young trees more than the lower. There are also purple/mauve (turning brown/black) lesions present on the stem and around the buds. Could this possibly be Phytopthora ilicis or bacterial blight or something altogether different?

A Peziza species, such as P. vesiculosa, P. repanda s.l. (incl. P. micropus) or P. cerea s.l. (including P. varia).
