cheers for the positive feedback guys, still awaiting regs feedback which im looking forward to even though i no theres alot of improvement needed, ive quoted for 4 more crane jobs since this and hopefully will be some more vids soon :001_smile:

Regarding some of those chunks that popped off.

 

Do you think the placement of slings could have been better? looked like a couple close ones with butts swinging out.

 

awesome vid though!

 

 

they were all just pre tensioned to much why they popped off suddenly.

just a thought.....

 

what is the swl etc of the crane? and what was total weight of the tree?

 

if the space was there could you lift the whole thing?

 

or has it been done before??

 

 

it was a 25ton crane and at that outreach it changed from 1ton to 2 ton and up to 3 ton in places that he could lift. im rubbish with weights but that last peice of stem weighed in at about 2 1/2 ton the peice before it was about 1ton theres 3 1/2 ton on the last 2 bits so the whole tree must have been about 15tons i would imagine,

 

 

if you got a 1000 ton crane in it has been known for people to lift complete trees out in a oner but you have to think is there space to lay it on the floor :thumbup1:
