Hi i just bought my first flipline and tied a distal with a 1m prussick loop cord.It works i haven't tried it in the tree yet but i think its possibly too short as i Havant left enoguh rope for the "ears" to be taped.IS this ok or shall i order a long bit of cord?Dont be too mean im only a noobie (:

I would have done it abit longer and taped up the ends just for tidyness, but everyone likes it abit different. But i would try it on the ground first.

Looks ok,set the 3 knots & you will get a bit more length in the soft link,give it all a good test on the ground before using it in anger.

I believe that the recommend minimum length of your tails / ears is 2.5 times the diameter of the rope. Yours are more than that at the moment but they will settle when loaded.

 

Its best to preload any new hitches on the ground before using them.

Thanks:thumbup1: ive tried loading by putting around my foot and pulling as hard as i could and it didnt move:thumbup1:..i wnated it short cus i like distal on a flipline and ive had a go with ones at college but there too long for small diameter stems
