Bit lost on where to start here.

I'm going to need a chipper, about 8" capacity for a day. Have a tractor with 60HP at the shaft which should run a chipper of that size I would have thought.

Any ideas of places in North Hants that hire this sort of thing? Probably only need it for a few hours! About 30 small dead leylandi to make smaller.

Due to the nature of PTO chippers, I don't know of one in a general hire fleet that would be available for the day. If it was long term (1 year), then it might be worth a company adding one to their fleet. But one day is not worth doing. Hire a road tow and drag it into the woods with the tractor or rent a tracked machine but again the hire rate would be dear as one day is not really worth having. Good Luck with your search.

If you chipping 8" material with 60hp you'll see a lot of no stress kicking in. Ifs just brashy stuff you should be ok.

Thanks for the tips.

I was hoping that a member had one that I could take on short term hire. I agree that taking one on such short hire is not cost effective for a hire company.

Ben has given me some good leads though.

Thank you.
