Someone's in for a spot of bother!

I reduced this Beech back away from the garage about two weeks ago. It's a council owned tree growing towards a privately owned garage next to a house.

I was walking past it today and noticed it looked a bit different!

It was immediately apparent that someone had done a cowboy backcut as you can see in the first photo. Then i saw the damage to the garage (which was more extensive than can be seen in the pics) - i couldn't believe it!

I then saw a bloke next to the garage who turned out to be a prospective tenant, wanting to rent the house and garage in question. The estate agent then turned up who informed me that the landlord told her the tree had come down by itself and he will be going through the insurance company!!!

THEN the next door neighbour told me that she saw the landlord and two friends cutting the tree down, told them to stop but they ignored her!!

I don't think the insurance company will appreciate being lied to and i don't think the council will appreciate him felling one of their (possibly tpo'd) trees!

:sneaky2::sneaky2:

For someone to state that the Beech came down on its own would make them one hell of a fool. You can see the cut for goodness sake! Ha. I would of laughed at the landlord and informed the council of his unauthorised work straight away! Some people really do pull my chain! :thumbdown: Sorry to hear about this mate.

I REALLY hope it doesn't come back on you in any way.

Most definately is fraud and the insurance company/companies will not only can his policies but probably press charges. There was a guy on the news here whose house burnt down. Fully covered on insurance but claimed a few little extras that he didn't actually have. Insurance company found out and refused to pay any of the insurance, house or contents, until a tv show got involved. I'd most definately be grassing him up if I could. Stuff like this helps put up your premiums.

I’m not defending what is clearly an act of criminal damage but before we have this alleged perpetrator hung drawn and quartered it might be worth pointing out that all we have is a report of some hear say.

who informed me that the landlord told her the tree had…….

Not forgetting that estate agent (in itself a creature given to less than accurate descriptions) provides this information painting a more favourable view of their client in front of a potential tenant........
