you need the figure of 8 or similar above ur hitch bro, as that takes out the friction that would of gone onto your hitch.

 

Figure of 8 goes below your hitch and the hitch is just there as back up

The problem with a single line and extra wraps on the friction hitch is although it will catch you you will be unable to descend without a figure of a 8 or similar descender below your hitch.

 

Unicender solves this problem! It's designed for SRT.

Has anyone on here gone through a steel flip line accidently or on purpose?

 

Cut mine up pretty bad, didn't even know i'd done it. Don't use them anymore.

bob, have you tryed it using a 66,:biggrin:

 

Husqvarna dont do a 66 anymore:confused1:

used a 395 and pretty quick across but in general the cut should be more down the length which will add a bit and the sparks certainly are an indicator:thumbup:

How about using the figure 8 with revolver on the running bowline? It even allows you to ascend if your desperate!
