RAF Regiment for two years. My dad wouldn't let me join the Army cos we have relatives in NI, so I joined the Rockapes instead and did a tour there anyway.

Left in 81 after a brief visit to Colchester.

Okay Mick. What got you to Colchester as a Rock Ape?

A snotty nosed corporal that let power go to his head. We were waiting to go on exercise in Germany and had been put in a Gym on safari beds and I part stripped a bed down so when someone sat on it it would fall apart, just a daft prank but this corporal saw me doing it and ordered me to put it back together.

I told him no and he started screaming at me....:laugh1: With that the whole flight stood up behind me and he buggered off with the right hump only to come back with the squadron W/O and a handfull of RAF Police. I looked around and everyone except four of us were still standing.

Handcuffs, guardroom, flight home then marched infront of the station commander to be given 28 days a piece on A wing (soldier on wing). While I was in there the C/O applied for the discharge of two of us.
