We asked if there was anyone we could phone for him and all he could say was don't tell my wife, please don't tell my wife.

Reading that bit Dean brings tears to my eyes, followed by rage!

My wife goes mad at me when I don't just let things go, when she heard about the knife in the guys car she went spare.

But I believe that the more of us that don't look the other way the better.

If a scrote thinks that there is ever a slight chance that some one will intervene they may think twice.

Good on ya Dean!

Well done Dean, I would have done the same. It's about time people stood up to Knobs like that instead of socity being afraid of the youngsters. Such chicken shits picking on someone so vunrable. Sorry for the language it makes me angry my dad's been targeted a few times, come home black and blue one day. The most recent was his house robbed but thats for another thread i guess (Intresting story tho).

Like you said Dean hope the guys ok and doesn't just give up on life and some do.

Many years ago, I saw a girl on the ground getting a good kicking from a gang of blokes. It was a crowded market place, but everyone just ignored it. I couldnt. I bundled into the fray, and was doing ok, when I received what I thought was 2 sharp kicks to the leg, in the upper thigh. I was dropped down, looked to see blood spilling out of 2 wounds. Turned out I'd been stuck with a Stanley knife. The fight? Well, it was over the bird getting off with someone else, and the boyfriend and his mates sorting it. Should I have intervened? Probably not, I didnt know the facts, but I dont think it warranted a gang to sort it. Would I do it again? Yes, cos I couldnt have forgiven myself if she'd been kicked to death and I hadnt bothered to try.

Thanks for the support chaps.

I've just learned this morning the chap was 92.

The two lads in custody have a good chance of getting away with it because of lack of witnesses.

All it takes is for someone to stop, and say, I saw what went on and give a staement. But people obviously have more important things to do.

Perhaps when it's in the papers tonight people may realise how serious the commotion was and come forward.

...and restore my faith in human nature

Like has been said earlier, it is built into some people. We may say we wont go into help someone but with me especailly, I don't seem to have a choice, it's not my decision it's my instinct making the choice.

police have just phoned me to ask if I'd do an ID parade. If I can pick them out they will be remanded in custody, I doubt I can.

Asked him if there were any other witnesses, he said no, just you and your wife.

See how I get on tonight

with any luck dean, the officers will give you a little nudge and wink in the right direction
