The weekend started well, managed to squeeze a tent, sleeping bag, harness, rope and even some clothes in a suitcase, public transport was for once on time and I was greeted in Cromer by sunshine and a friendly face (thanks Abby for the lift!). Sadly saturday was a bit of a wash out. Didn't start climbing untill late afternoon because of torrential and persistant rain. Didn’t mind too much though, we spent the day chatting and eating! Thankfully cleared into a lovely evening so had a go at footlocking with ascenders. With coaching from world champ Jo soon wizzed up into the tree (well ok maybe wizzed was a slight exageration but it felt like it compared to body thrusting!) Then we felt like having a laugh so made a swing. All too soon it started to get dark and the midges decided we were supper. Was only a small turn out, 4 of us plus a baby and a dog, but was great to make new friends and have some fun in the trees. Its nice to know that as a female arborist I’m not alone! Thanks again to Abby for organising the free camping, Forest Park had some amazing trees! My favourite quote of the weekend – “Mind that box is quite heavy. Oh what am I talking about, you’re a tree surgeon!”. Hopefully see some more of you at the next one :001_smile:

insert 'trainee arborist' lets not get to clever too quick :001_cool:

Well of course! I just thought 'arborist' sounded better than 'person who works with trees'. I'll quite happily admit to the world I'm very much still a numpty novice with much to learn :001_tongue:
