I have two mature Eucalyptus in my garden the both look very sick, large sections bark on the one has split and is peeling away, the other just has the dead leaf syndrome.

I will probably fell one and pollard the other, just waiting to see if there is any sign of life first.

I took a dead eucalyptus down the other day and was talking to a customer about why so many had died the last 2 years around here and had a thought.

The weather men have said that these last 2 winters have been the hardest for approx. 35 years, you don't see many eucalyptus that are much older than this.

Maybe the old skool winters hit them as hard as these last two winters have.

Any ideas on this thought ?
