Wet sappy wood will tar up your chimney, don't burn it unless you want to sweep every few weeks. Again, properly dry is the key.

 

Spitting isn't an issue unless you have an open fire.

I just spent all day cutting some willows down and same again tomorrow and theres quite a bit of wood come off it i started cutting it into small sections and was going to start moving it with jcb before someone said its not really very good for burning but now i know i can dry it out and throw it on the fire cheers.

Anything will burn apart from willow:lol:

Willow is a very wet wood, the most important thing is to let it dry properly

Split the wood and stack off the ground with good air flow it will dry quickly enough
