Another Home-made Rope Guide Thread

Doing a large conifer dismantle today and clipping a

revolver onto the pinto really saved the arms. It's a great little trick but eats a huge amount of rope, my 50m was nowhere near long enough to go anywhere near the bottom of the tree.

Yeh that system is smooth,Its a bit weird at first tho,Depends on the tree and size of it.

Has anyone used the teufelberger pully saver? Looks a lot like your home made ones, just costs about 4 times more,

 

But maybe good for people who can't splice,

 

wonderd if it works better than the rope guide?

I've got one for that reason, it's brilliant I've only had it a couple of weeks but I've used it loads and not had it stuck yet! I can recommend it to anyone, but I agree it's a lot of money for what it is.

Cheers chap, could you tell me ,did it come with a large or small pinto and is the eye held open with anything

 

Pinto setup does look wicked, being able to 3:1 makes it more usefull than the cocoon, just dosn't look as nice.imo

 

Gotta stop looking at this site, ends up costing me a fortune

Not sure about pinto size it says its a pinto rig pully it looks large, the loop is held open and as soon as the weight is off it springs open to allow easy passage for the pulley, I bought the longest one they do thinking that the length might be handy, in hindsight I probably should have bought the short one.

Cool the large one is the rig,

large size rope is handy for choking, also if its anything like the RG always better to hang it a bit loose
