How do you start a career in tree surgery?

another one is after youve got the certs its not to hard to get into the agencys you could try total tree care they dont pay great money and you have to provid your own kit but you would get lots of experience, if you get in with the right company and your prepaird to learn you ll do well and they may take you on. one thing is to remember when you do finally get going some of the guys out there have been doin the buisness a long time and theyve earned there strips the hard way, pick there brains about everything and i mean everything all the mistakes your going to make theyve made them or seen them and they will steer you clear of you faults and improve you knowledge exponentially all the lads we had have gone on and are doin well except about three who thought they were the best thing since sliced bread because they could fell a conifer straight or that they knew a few knots that you didnt just listen and you ll do well

sounds good to me. I cant really do anything at the moment tho, am waiting to find out whether I'm moving to sheffield or manchester, all depends on where the missus gets herself a job, she's got two interviews and I'll find out next week which one she got. Until then I'm stuck waiting!!!!

The important thing is to start off with your mouth full of marbles. Eventually, when you've lost all your marbles, then you'll be a real tree surgeon.

I agree but if the oil crisis gets any worse I do seriously worry about the future with the economic situation at the minute

We might have to go back to using a bow saw if the oil goes tits up.

 

Yes the trees do keept growing but we keep multiplying quicker than they grow cutting down 100year old trees in a day or two.
