Which livestock are you moving and are they your own? Vehicle and distance? There are numerous regulations that apply depending on this. I have moved Iron Age pigs between sites I use and not all regulations are needed.

New regulations are also on the containers used to transport.

i looked into it and we didnt need one to move our sheep within i think 20 miles radius of our grass eating etc and to market/slaughter, if there your own livestock and you hold the relevant trailer licence. your local environmental health from the local council will have all the relevant literature on such rules ,as we had a farm check last month from Staffs. council environmental health and this is something that came up in the chat. but as it wasnt too relevant to us we skipped most of it as our slaughterhouse is in the next village and market isnt too far and grass eating is within 7 miles

I have my safe work ticket for moving livestock but that is for hire and reward, not sure about it for personal use.

I done it in the republic of Ireland as that's where the beasts where that where being moved.

As far as the exam go's very much like every other pointless exam, they talk to you about it then they ask you some questions then you pass. Nobody fails these tests unless you don't turn up.

as previously stated ( CJ ) its something like 50 ish miles for me that means no problems to local marts but if you go to special sale bull breeding or yorkshire gimmer sales then a licence is needed I did mine 3/4 years ago at market a private firm were doing it on behalf of nptc , a multiple choice on line laptop job very hard to fail ,just another taxation . seperate ones cattle and sheep /pigs /poultry/horses a fee for each one ! !
