Those new arms don't look particularly strong, are they rated highly enough for a mog linkage?

 

 

Not sure Dave , our mechanic sourced them, he knows a lot about ag stuff. It won't hurt to ask the question though. The last ones looked really sturdy but weren't when it came down to it . The legs on the chipper hit a speed hump and off it came.

Has your unimog got an accumulator in the hydraulic piping for the 3 point linkage? If it hasn't it might be worth looking in to it, as it will give a shock absorber effect to the linkage.

On mine the accumulator is mounted on the x frame, on the near side, about 120mm diameter with a flat top, and domed bottom with a single hydraulic hose going to a t piece in the lift circuit.

The plan is to eventually mount the chipper on the front on a plate. Once we get a hiab trailer we will make the change. The costs are prohibitive at the present time but we will get there as the business continues to grow.
