Dont argue with the assesor!

I know a guy who had been climbing for a while and was quite good, went for his cs38, and on the test argued wih the assesor about using a pushing chain (top of the bar) when he shouldnt have, saying that he did it when working. he was failed.

Erm does anyone have any tips on the pole climbing :)

Cant see how you may need to pole climb on a 38? maybe it depends on the assessor?

If your in lincoln, have a chat with Mr Rowbottom@Riseholme about having a go up a pole.

just relax dont get worked up the assesment schedual makes it souns so scary but its not! they are not there to fail you they want you to pass but cant pass you if you do something stupid. read up on working at height regs, loler regs, risk assesment and look over the assesment schedual and you WILL be fine!

good luck :)

Cs38 was updated end of 09 to include pole climb and rescue and a few tree idents!

You don't have to walk on a branchwalk. I tend to shuffle anyway. Keep my centre of gravity lower and easier to balance!

Just take it slow. Don't push all your energy into thrusting. You'll have nothing left in you when you get to the top!
