Hi,been asked to suply 25 tons of firewood to a customer. Never suplyed this much in one go. Thanks Ross :thumbup1:

in my experience an average artic load [26 ton] works out to be around 40 loads once processed.. i charge £80 load for just over a metre.. so £3200.. bit less as there buying in bulk..

25T (freshly felled oak or beech) produces about 35 cubic metres seasoned logs. We aim to get £100/cubic metre so would be looking for £3500. This is seasoned mind you, which obviously means it wont be 25T when sold on as it will have been reduced from 45 down to 20% moisture content

I don't think that Nick is to far out then, theres alot of graft processing an artic load of wood.

takes 2 men 2/3 days to process an artic load chord wood.. 26 tons cost me £1300+vat... £450 to process in wages.. so total each load owes round £45.. not great profit.. and thats without running tractor and processor and small digger loading processor, advertising to sell logs and diesel and my time delivering.. only bonus is i get 3 loads at a time on my truck and rarely go out witout 3 to deliver.. and do min of 10 loads day 7 days week for 3 months up to xmas..
