i think if you dont put your prices up like everyone else you will soon start to suffer.

 

the customer will have to pay the extra sooner or later.. it just takes time to adapt

The problem is there are more have a go tree companies now than ever taking their little bit of the pie but most fade away leaving only a small few who establish.

 

That's why it's important to do a good job at a fair price and leave the site cleaner that it was when you arrived.

 

That way you build your client data base, 50% of my customers have used me before and don't even bother with a second quote. But it takes a good few years to build one up

I am a start up as of april this year, but spent the last 3 years building the business before i left the LA.

Things seem to be going ok the work keeps coming in but at the moment i doing a bit of grounds maintenance and little bit of landscaping until i can fully build up the tree side, a long way to go imo.

thats exactly true dean,its taken me 15 years on that principle,the only snag i've found is when you take on more men/expand etc you lose the high standards you set for years,i'm happy now just servicing my loyal customer base using casual labour and even the missus when needs must,(although its not so easy to sneak a pint in then on the way home)

gotta say thats a cracker big ammer,i wish they would but for 80 a day cash they would rather throw wood about and leave old boilers to plumbers!!!
