this is the one i made up. inserted a type of solid bungee cord into the splice after the core had been taken out to hold itself open for retrieval. nice to climb on but a pain in the arse to retrieve. i always get problems with the alu ring on the webbing rope guide getting stuck in tight crotches and thought this would be the answer. at the moment, its not:mad1:

that looks very posh but could you not of put a ring on the end so the cocoon would pull through easily?

my one, made by me

changes to it are, i now have a 4 wrap prussic as opposed to teh blakes, i still have the shackle on teh end and i now have a thin bit of cord heading off to the retieval shackle. its at work just now so i can't show any pics.

 

i think the main rope is a meter and a bit and spliced both ends. finished off with my special whipping
