stephen, thats a very important observation, this makes me feel robinia frissia, and if it had such a smell I bet it was a dead one felled, carrying a disease we recordeda couple of year ago, so you have it in scotland, frissias dying localy?

 

it was outside Birmingham, the locals sounded like Lenny Henry:laugh1: I had never seen 1 before, it was about 70', i dont think it was dead though, the trunk was green.

As Tom said heavy , it's when it's polished it looks and brings the colours out when mature the heart wood can become really dark,this dead one we planked does not do the woods potential any favours though as it's bland, but you do get the added bonus of lewi lunging in the back ground
