Usually its the green lead in the front of the handle, its got a spade conector (female) on the end which gets pulled off it male counterpart.

But recently I had the same problem and it wasn't that lead and it was hard to see what the problem was, but further in behind the green cable is a black one and this too has a female spade conector on the end. Mine had broken off, so not come unconected but actually snapped off.

I was able to slice on another conecter from an old saw and all fixed.

Have another look, it must be one of those connectors.

Does anybody know how to fix a 200 that wont stop when selected. I've taken apart the handle checked all connections and it all looks fine, any suggestions?

check the earth on the casing where the front of the handle joins the crank case they flex and break there the wire might look ok but may be broken in there

It is a simple circuit, the earth wire connects to the front AV mount, this joins on to a leaf spring in the handle, a steel rod on the white plastic assembly that the orange choke lever joins on to connects this to another spring running down to the black wire that connects to the coil.

Just get yourself a £5 multimeter, set it to the resistance (Ohm) setting, set the choke lever to stop and place the black multimeter probe on to the engine/casing to earth it and check for continuity along the wires, springs and connectors. Where the break is the problem lies!

Simple really.....it really is.......honest.........maybe im smart:thumbup1:
