How long did it take for you guys/gals to find trust in your climbing gear, for me it seems to be a bit of a struggle :(

I know that the gear is rated so it could lift a car or two but still I don't feel that i'm in the trust yet ,,,,,

any tips would be nice !!!

Its just practice. The more you climb the easier it gets. I cant remember (some 8yrs back) how long it took me to become totally conifdent in all my kit , but i do remeber having to overcome that trust element and my initial fear of heights.

Probably a few weeks.

I dont trust my gear. I'm certain it plots against me behind my back....

yeah all the strops and ropes meet 6 monthly just b4 the loler test and have a big fight and cut each other up:thrasher:

 

on a serious side it took me a while to get confident in my gear, im now more confident with the gear than i am wth the dam trees!!!!! done 2 trees today and both had ****** centers but looked perfect on the out side!!!!!!

I'm too a this stage of my climbing career so can sympathise! Trouble is I'm climbing so infrequently too! I'm sure I just need two or 3 days consecutive to get used to it!

Currently I work for the Environment Agency the job I hate!, also have set up my own little company doing mainly fencing and odd tree jobs I picked up here and there had Cs 30 &31's for 8 or 9 years now I want to move along a bit to climbing and forget fencing!

 

I know George Walkers, I heard all his guys are subbies very few on the books or is that a local myth? Who do you work for now?

they have 10 guys employed and use a hell of alot of subbies forthe crappy jobs!!!!

im a subbie for them now thru another company (paul ford tree surgery - nr melton mowbray)

lucky i know the boss very well and he dont treat me too badly so all is cool
