Last time I think it was 24 turned up but this time I think it's going to be more.

My location is very central in the north which isn't too bad for people 2 hours drive from either side.

It is a recreational climb where people bring their own gear to climb trees, you are only providing the food and drink. If they want to borrow trick bits and shiney toys from someone elses gear to try out then they do so at their own risk :sneaky2:

You can't say that the expertise isn't their to guide and supervise.

It was a really enjoyable day and the main activity was chin wagging, so treat it as a day out with mates. :thumbup1:

Steve, Lee,

Just had a reply from the country park.

" have been forwarded an email from you about training of arborists at the country park.

Whilst your proposal is not strictly an ‘event’ I do require more information from you about your proposal so I would be grateful if you’d fill out and email back the attached events form. Much of it you can ignore but I do need information about your company, evidence of Public Liability Insurance to the required level, and will require risk assessments and a method statement if we decide to proceed.

You should also be aware that there would be a hire fee for use of the country park for a training event such as the one proposed."

Typical red tape!

I will try chase up the MOD.

I could probablly provide a site .

It would be a farm site with some decent trees around mainly beech.

What does everyone think?

Location would be 4 miles south of Andover.

If this is a bit to far south what would the chances of getting permisson on Forestry commision ground?

I was thinking of Savernake Forest near Marlbrough. they have BBQ sites there around the forest and a camp site !!! good location for most i think . I have a contact number for the Comission office at this site .

What are your thoughts?

Fine by me all i need is a bit of notice to get a permission and find out what you fellas want and job will be done.

If the meet up being organised by Lee is to far then we could do one here for the hampshire, witshire area.

I think you are about 6 miles from me Treewizard, i am near Goodworth Clatford.

Lets see what Lee comes up with first and i hope we can all get to that one, i am up for filling a vehicle and sharing fuel if anyone fancies that.
