Hi mate, as a fellow arb I think your vid is pretty cool! However I tried to view it with the mindset of a pottential customer...my thoughts are that you could probably start with something a little less extreme...just to set the scene...maybe a pic of you and your collegues next to the truck and chipper perhaps. Then i would put a short introduction by yourself, on what you do (services offered etc). Then i would begin with the action!!!

Hope that helps

cheers for that, i thought about what way was best to go about it for ages i tryed to get the short "wow" at the start to keep them watching till the pictures show what we do. if i employed anyone, it would be good idea to use a picture of a team not at the stage of employing at the moment for a long while, maybe i should have stuck a list of what we do at the start. maybe i should have asked this question before i made the video :laugh1:

I would of added music to accompany the photos. Nice pics and you got some good rigging jobs. Maybe a link/address to your website/contact number on the video as its available on youtube too?

wonder why you say good pics :001_tt2: as for the contact details it should come up after they sort it out next to my advert on yell so it will have everything next to it that i do and details :thumbup1: as for the music ive had enough stick for my choices i thought best bet was silence

Good work.

Agree with the others that a client probably doesn't need to see so much rigging porn and also they are not interested in large bits more that the bits been rigged come down cleanly and controlled.

Good to show the variety of work you do.

Maybe a camera set up on a tri pod and a small sequence of a tree from start to finish.

There is some great rigging but to the average client it will all look the same, get some video footage of you tidying the job,the chipper going, the grinder working, trimming a hedge get some variety in there.I would also try and get more camera work from the clients view, it was good though.

Take out the falling timber in reverse as a client will ask you "ive changed my mind put that branch back on, i seen it in your video" :001_rolleyes::biggrin:

Hi James

Firstly, I have a lot of respect for what you've already achieved at such a young age....and I have no doubt that its only going to get better so long as your interest in treework doesn't begin to flag in a couple of years, I sincerely hope not.

Its a good youtube/tree-forum type video that would coax a smile out of most of your fellow arbos....but as a client promo vid, no I think its way off the mark, no offence. If I were a client I just wouldn't have a clue what I was looking at or why I should hire you. Even the stills with headings of the thinning work etc are not comparative to anything, just after shots....meaningless if I knew nothing about treework.

Check out some of Tod Kramers vids....and this guys is the real deal when it comes to hands-on treework also. Hope it helps: YouTube - KramerTree's Channel

Ditto. Some sound advice there Reg and exactly what I was thinking.

Nice video though James.
