i,m paying £40 ton inc vat and delivered i thought that was expensive! if it gets anymore expensive i,l go and cut my own woodland.

Standing prices are going up and up. Some stuff here is upwards of £15 a tonne standing. Means roadside prices are just going to go up and up.

I agree, unless you are getting the standing timber for nothing, or paid to remove the trees from the woodland, dont see how roadside price can be much cheaper than it is in our area,if youve gotta make a living that is.

There are Firewood businesses local to me buying large amounts of timber in at £60 per tonne.Just gotta be reflected in the end product price i suppose.

i normaly pay £50 ton delivered [26 or 27 ton].. he's just put price up to £52 ton as fuel has risen..

The VAT rise should not affect firewood sellers.

 

Every thing you buy is at 20% every thing you sell is at 5% (unless to trade)

 

You would have to mark up you base costs by over 400% to be worse off.

It's getting silly-I fit stoves on a regular basis as a HETAS installer I try to promote wood as an alternative fuel. Not that easy now....
